Christine Bauer - March Fierce Female

I can't believe March is here and gone....literally in a few hours. I'm not really sure where it went, but here are a few MARISSA JANE FITNESS updates. I have been busy training clients in Omaha, Lincoln, Fremont, and Council Bluffs. I created and filmed the second month of my virtual video training program, APRIL ACTIVATION. Registration is open through the end of the day tomorrow if you are in need of high intensity workouts that you can complete at home in less than 30 minutes!

I have been working with HIGHLIGHT-HER to schedule our first Athletic Standard Index testing event. We are looking at May 4th-5th at The Mark in Elkhorn. High school athletes and parents.....stay tuned for more info! I have also been training goalkeepers at ELKHORN SOCCER CLUB and it has been a lot of fun. Finally, I signed up for Ironman 70.3 Boulder, which is August 4th, 2018!

Enough about me....I'm super excited to introduce my dear friend, Christine Bauer. I have known Christine for a long time. We grew up attending the same church and became even better friends in high school because we took several of the same classes. Christine is now an ER nurse and she absolutely loves helping people. Christine is also a singer/songwriter with some big dreams! She has released an EP titled 'Pretty Things' (pictured) and it's amazing! She is my country music concert-going bestie and has one of the kindest souls I have ever met! Check out my interview with Christine below.

Marissa: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

Christine: I am an optimistic Gemini and look forward to living each day to its fullest. Through that I have found songwriting and nursing. I work mostly nights as a registered and certified emergency nurse and write songs whenever I can or whenever they find me. I am 26 years old and the big sister to three others. I am the close friend to a few and a good friend to many! And I’m so excited to be featured on your blog!

Marissa: How did you get started with music?

Music has always been a big deal for me, ever since grade school. I grew up listening to a variety of music genres, but country was always the one that stuck. I bought my first guitar when I was 16 and have been writing ever since. A lot of people have come into my life since then who have supported me and helped me take every next step to get to where I am today.

Marissa: Did someone inspire you to pick up a guitar and start writing and singing?

Christine: It really was more a variety of influencers, but Good Charlotte and Johnny Cash played a big role!

Marissa: What has been your favorite part of your music journey?

Christine: Writing and recording has always been my favorite part. It’s the creating process and seeing it all come together that I really love. I have also loved working with my producer/manager, Paul William Ray, over the past 5 years. I still can’t believe how lucky I am and blessed that he came along when he did! (Paul lives in Australia).

Marissa: What has been the most challenging part for you?

Christine: I still have a bit of stage fright! I always feel great after a show and ready to play the next one….it’s the supportive crowds and having my songs heard that keep me doing that!

Marissa: What advice do you have for other young aspiring musicians?

Christine: Don’t give up! Find others who are on the same journey…in the music business, it really is who you know and showing others how much you love this. Follow your heart, it knows where to go.

Marissa: How do you manage working as a full-time ER nurse while picking up extra shifts and managing your music career?

Christine: This past year has been busy, but I just take it one day at a time! I’m always the first one to ask “what’s the date again?” or “is it really Friday already?” Haha!! That’s part of living one day at a time I guess! I’ve always said that everyone should live each day as though it’s their last, but also plan like they have forever. It also takes a couple different planners to accomplish this, but both emergency nursing and music have also taught me that you can’t plan everything, sometimes you just go with the flow. I think being a Gemini has also helped!

Marissa: Are you working on anything that you are really excited about right now?

Christine: My most recent EP ‘Pretty Things’ came out last fall so I’m excited to go out and play some shows this Summer! Tomorrow after Easter lunch I get to fly out to Nashville and play a writer’s round for the first time with a great friend of mine so I’m really excited about that!! There is always a new song in the works as well.

Marissa: What are your music goals/dreams for the next 5 years? 10 years?

Christine: Within the next five years I’d love to become a published songwriter and gain more attention as an artist! I plan on finding myself out in Nashville more often! In about 10 years I’d love to see myself working at a publishing label regularly as a songwriter and have a hit song on radio!

Marissa: Where can people follow you and purchase your music?

Christine: The easiest way to purchase my music is on iTunes or Amazon or directly from me via email or in person! I still like buying and selling CDs! My website and social media accounts are also a great place to follow me and find new music (@christinebauermusic) or (@CBauerMusic26).

Thank you to Christine for shining a light in the world! Check out her music and give her a follow on Instagram and FB. I have a feeling she is going to make it onto a big stage someday. I'm so grateful to call you my friend! Keep following your dreams, girl.

Happy Easter! He is risen!

Sending you lots of love and strength,

Marissa Jane
